This vision for Miracle Farm Honduras was birthed out of the volume of hunger we discovered in Honduras. We moved to Honduras in February of 2006 with a call of the Lord to go there and train in Children’s ministry. It is not difficult to recognize the desperate hunger in the children of Honduras, but we began to understand more of the need of the working poor who do not have enough food for them selves and their families.
If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:15-17
Many need relief from the daily lack of food they experience especially children. Many need job opportunities to help supply what is lacking for their families. We have been involved in job skills training for for 6 years and now providing 13 regular jobs and 25 temporary jobs at our farm project while providing food for the needy. The farm fights poverty and provides food for the hungry.
The farm is located in El Rincon, Honduras. This is a community of 3,000 people. Because of the farm the community is being transformed through work opportunities, evangelistic outreaches to the children of the community, partnership with the local schools, micro-enterprises, and much more. The farm is changing lives!
In 2016 we set the goal to be self sustaining in 5 years, and with the edition of the “mega tunnels” we believe we could be 30% there.
The farm is divided into two areas,
- Marketable products we sell for sustainability of the farm,
- Food to be given for daily hunger relief.
