Why have we gone silent?
A common phrase I’ve heard is that the way evil grows is when good men do nothing. Today we see activism on the left moving our culture in directions away from the Truth of the Bible. Our Christian liberties are being limited mainly in that we have been intimidated into silence, and that silence is the inactivity that allows evil to grow. Christianity is the TRUTH on the earth and each Christian is a carrier of the truth. The presence of the Holy Spirit in the individual Christian is the restraining force against the evil that would intimidate and oppress. Would you have ever believed that in our country we would ever see a day when a preadolescent child could be allowed to make a decision on what sex they will be? Would you ever believe that a state government would cheer about passing a law to allow abortion up to the point of birth? Or a governor of another state would justify the killing of a newborn baby? The only way this could happen is if the voice of truth had been silenced for many years.
It’s time to wake up
We live in a free society, yet the church has gone underground, yet in the oppressive country of Iran the underground church is growing exponentially. Why have we gone silent? There is an evil spirit that wants to push us underground. We need to realize that we are in a spiritual battle and that our weapon is our mouth, speaking words of truth and praying in the Spirit of Truth. “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
A lie cannot stand against the truth, and a lie always fails before the truth. If that truth is not spoken, then the lie can prevail.
Biblically we are all called to speak the truth. Mathew 28:18 says: “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” The church is authorized to speak the truth in Love! Ephesians 4 “but speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” We are carriers of the truth and the truth sets people free, while lies put people into bondages.
You have been saved through the Truth. You have been filled with the Spirit of Truth. You have been called to speak the Truth in Love not in anger and condemnation but in the Spirit. 2Cor. 3:6 “who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”
God has made us capable to speak the Truth which is ministering the covenant and that covenant is the power to change our culture and to establish this nation again in the TRUTH.
